THE upcoming Home Decor and Design Exhibition (Homedec) Penang 2016 by CIS Network Sdn Bhd will showcase aged care living and designs for the first time.
The three-day exhibition from April 8 at the Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition (SPICE) Arena will outline the need to educate the public on how the aged could be taken care of in a more comfortable environment.
CIS Network Sdn Bhd marketing and communications manager Callyster Goh said that by 2035, about 15% percent of the Malaysian population would be made up of those aged above 60 so there was a need to plan out homes for the aged.
“The exhibition will stress the importance of understanding the designs of living spaces.

“We need to anticipate emerging design trends to determine opportunities and aged care living is one of the programmes we want to highlight,” she told a press conference recently.
Goh said there would be an individual life-sized show unit on aged care by PDI Design & Associates design director Ooi Boon Seong and associate partner Lisa Ong called ‘Style Without Borders’ and another by Majidah Design senior interior designer Idzam Othman called ‘Calm Realisation’.
