Gary Kerridge will be presenting on Assistive technology for delivery of Auslan and captioning for Deaf students. The presentation will include strategies for delivering remote interpreting and captioning in various education situations through assistive technology, mobile devices and the Internet. He will also present information on a number of listening devices and how they can benefit classroom situations, Gary will share his knowledge and practical solutions to various classroom situations.
Gary is Deaf and has been a disability professional for nearly 30 years. This includes 12 years as an National Disability Coordination Officer (NDCO). Throughout his career, in both education and employment, Gary has developed a wealth of knowledge and strategies around reasonable adjustments, particularly around deafness. The internet and development of mobile technology has opened up many doors previously closed for deaf professionals.
Gary has produced a great resource Assistive Technology in the workplace, it provides information about technology that can be used by people with disability in the workplace.
