Editors Note: This article is from a great source in the UK but surely / hopefully the chairs can be sourced in Australia or imported personally if required.
Cura and Ultra Cura care chairs from Benmor Medical
High dependency chairs for professional care environments
From critical care to palliative care, the Cura chair has been designed to play an essential part in the patient care plan.
Manual or electric adjustment
The seat positioning can be adjusted, either manually with gas assist, or a convenient electric control. The chair has a manually adjusted tilt in space feature, which allows it to be moved into a horizontal position, if required.
Backrest and leg rest angle can also both be adjusted, either manually or electrically.
Built-in pressure management cushioning in the seat and the backrest, help to ensure patient comfort.
A height adjustable Cura Care Chair is available on request, enabling transfers and patient care to be carried out at the correct working height.

A versatile piece of care equipment
The care chair has large directional locking castors, with central braking, making it suitable to use for patient transport. The armrests are removable, so slide sheets or boards can be used for side transfers.
The Cura chair has a weight capacity of 180kg (28st); 457mm (18”) seat width; and 533mm (21”) seat depth.
Ultra Cura bariatric care chair
Unique in the UK, the Ultra Cura care chair, which is shown here, is part of Benmor’s range of versatile bariatric solutions, which are available either to buy or to rent.
The same features as the Cura chair
Like the Cura care chair, the Ultra Cura is an effective combination of pressure care, mobility and positional adjustment – but this is designed for the bariatric patient, with a weight capacity of 349 kg (55 stone).
It is the only fully mobile, hoist friendly bariatric chair with integral pressure care features. Features include an elevating legrest with padded footrest, which is length adjustable, making it easy to adapt to suit taller patients. Large clearance beneath the chair allows access for a bariatric mobile hoist. Armrests can be swapped to gain extra width, or removed altogether.
The standard seat width is 700mm (28”), and weight capacity 349kg (55 stone); custom-made sizes are available on request.
